SCORM

The most common standard for packaging e-learning courses.

What is SCORM?

SCORM (Sharable Content Object Reference Model) is a widely used technical standard for packaging e-learning content so it works across different systems. A SCORM package can be uploaded to any SCORM-compatible LMS, which then plays it and records completion and scores.

Why it matters

SCORM means courses you build or buy in one tool will play and track in another — so you are not locked in, and existing content is reusable.
